Students of Government Senior Secondary School, Raghuana, in this district refused to take midday meals when fungus-infested food was served to them today. Some students spotted fungus on grams supplied to them.
More than 25 students refused to accept the meal and brought the matter to the notice of the village sarpanch.
Children alleged that as the food was smelling bad, it was not possible for them to eat it.
Sarpanch Jagtar Singh inspected the foodstocks stored in a dingy room of the school and found that grams were infested with fungus.
Efforts to contact District Education Officer Kumkum Grover on her mobile were not successful.
