The Haryana government has accorded approval to increase the number of supernumerary seats from 30 to 50 per cent in vocational units in government or private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) being run under State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
Stating this here today, Haryana Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal, who also holds the portfolio of Industrial Training Department, said the state government was committed to provide employment oriented education to the youth.
This decision would help in imparting skill training to a large number of youth in the state so that they could get maximum advantage of employment opportunities prevailing in present era of competition.
The Minister said that those SCVT vocational units, which were in process of obtaining affiliation of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and the Standing Inspection Committee had recommended their affiliation with effect from the starting of the next session, would continue with the existing provision of 30 per cent supernumerary seats.
