Haryana to get National Law University Soon

The Haryana government today said a national law university will soon be set up in the state. "The national law university will be set up at Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonepat," Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said at a meeting of the Haryana State Higher Education Council here. The university will play an important role in evolving and imparting comprehensive legal education at all levels.Besides,it will conduct advanced studies and help promote research in all branches of law, he said.

He also advocated for streamlining B Ed education and engage retired teachers on periodical basis.

In the meeting it was also decided to set up an inter-university consortium, which will facilitate contacts between state universities, provide a forum for discussion on a wide range of academic issues and maintain high and comparable academic standards.

The consortium will address thematic concerns like syllabus, academic calendars, examination papers, examination schedules and declaration of results, officials said.
