Haryana Govt to Upgrade ITIs Under PPP Mode

In a bid to improve the quality of training in government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), the Haryana Government has decided to upgrade 47 of them under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in 2011-12.

While stating this here on Sunday, an official spokesperson of the Industrial Training Department said industrialists, willing to adopt government ITIs and contribute in the process of upgradation of skills, would be included in the management of the institutes, which were now being constituted as independent societies.

"The industrialists willing to adopt the ITIs should be within the district or in a radius of 100 km in the adjoining district. The industry must be a manufacturing unit or service sector unit or infrastructure company or information technology company with a minimum annual turnover of Rs 10
crore," he said.

The industry should have been operational for at least five years and should have at least 25 employees. The industrialists would have to give an undertaking that they would appoint Chairman, Managing Director or Director of the company or head of the local unit of the company as the chairman of Institutional Management Committee of the adopted government ITI, the official said.

The applications along with supporting documents should reach the Director, Industrial Training Department within 15 days, he added.
